Clean Silver At Home

In our experience, the best way to clean silver is by using baking soda, aluminium foil and hot water.

1. Put the silver jewelry, aluminium foil and some baking soda in a jar. You can use aluminium baking pan as well. This way, you don’t have to use the jar.
2. Pour hot water in the jar so that the jewelry is fully immersed in water. The tarnish should remove instantly.
3. If the jewelry is heavily tarnished, you might need to repeat the process.

This process is quite safe for the silver. We have not come across any gemstone, that should be avoided in this cleaning process. It is quite inexpensive way to clean and you don’t have to come into contact with any chemicals.

Sterling Silver Jewelry

Our sterling silver is all handmade. If you ever get a chance to visit Kathmandu, try to see the artists working on silver. It makes me wonder how they could, for example, hit a piece of metal with a little chisel all day long!
